Jesus said,
"I tell you solemnly …..
you will be sorrowful but your sorrow
will turn to joy. I shall see you
again and your hearts will be full
of joy,
and that joy no one shall take from
you."
John
:16-24
Sorrow and joy are inevitably intertwined
for the committed child of the Father:
how could it be otherwise for those
who follow in the steps of the Son
of Man? As I rejoiced in the Presence
of the Father during My earthly
life My joy was complete; as I identified
with the sadness and suffering of
humankind I suffered as no one has
ever suffered before or since. And
as I broke the bands of sin and
evil for all time I faced such depths
of pain and horror as no-one can
even begin to imagine.
I returned to the Father's side
in triumph and joy: triumph that
the power of evil was destroyed
for all time, joy that I was restored
for eternity to the right hand of
the Father.
And so it is with Our redeemed
and sanctified ones. All who are
in Me share the sadness and the
pain of the human condition. But
as they are faithful so do they
participate in My triumph and share
in Our joy both now and throughout
Eternity.
