Tuesday, August 7th
Peter answered,
"Lord, if it is You, tell Me
to come to You across the water."
"Come". Said Jesus. Then
Peter started to walk … took
fright and began to sink. "Save
me." he cried. Jesus put out
His hand at once and held him. "Man
of little faith,"
He said. "why did you doubt?"
Matthew
14:28-31
Which of My beloved, committed
ones have not known the anguish
of dark and stormy waters, and the
dereliction of their pain? Yet were
they never alone, and at the time
of the deepest pain I was closest
at hand. And even the most perilous
seas are held in the hollow of the
Father's hand. Not one of the Father's
beloved children ever perished save
those who sought their self-destruction
and the destruction of others: for
such the Father grieves with an
anguish which can never be known.
But all who offer themselves in
loving commitment to the Father's
will and good purpose are at some
point, maybe not once but many times,
caught up in the deep swell of the
world's suffering. This person or
that cause is given in loving trust
to a faithfully committed one to
love and prosper in the Way, even
through the perilous waters of the
deep. But I am always at hand to
encourage, sustain and progress
to the end.
Let all who encounter that which
dismays and makes afraid commit
themselves afresh to the Father's
all-embracing loving purpose and
take My outstretched hand which
will hold, sustain and save. So
will they arrive at the haven where
they would be.
