Thursday, March 31st
As they led Jesus away they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming from the country, and they laid the cross on him, and made him carry it behind Jesus.
Luke 23:26

By envy, hate and betrayal I was delivered into the hands of men who sought to destroy Me, so was I led through suffering and calumny to My death.

Each one of those who persecuted Me the Father loved , and for each one I suffered and died. And the redemption was and is effective for each and every child of the Father since the world began, according to the disposition and co-operation of each soul.

And part of the process of a soul’s redemption is the sharing in My saving work. Simon of Cyrene typifies this participation for all times. He was required to bear My cross on the road to Calvary, to carry it in pain and ignominy at the command of the Roman power. Willingly he bore it , finding point and purpose in the undertaking. : in that undertaking his compassion was exercised and the word of consolation was spoke to the innermost part of his being. In his sharing of the burden of the cross he participated in the salvation of the world.

He who takes up his cross to follow me takes up My cross, and like Simon of Cyrene shares in the great work which I came to earth to do. Whoever refuses to accept his part in this great cosmic undertaking is not worthy of Me.
