When those who were around Jesus saw what was coming they asked, "Lord should we strike them with a sword?". Then one of them struck the slave of the High Priest and cut off his ear. But Jesus said, "No more of this" . And He touched his ear and healed him.
Luke 22:47-51

Evil can never be overcome by evil. And to attack even the physical body of another is an evil act. Hate and suspicion engender their own kind and unless there is a thought or a prayer or an act which stops the cycle of evil in its tracks only sorrow and destruction and suffering for many will ensue.

Lord, how can the might of armed evil in the world be halted and stopped from destroying the World?

By the united, corporate, dedicated prayer of all the faithful in all nations the world over ; by the working together for the cause of peace in all its ramifications the world over; by removing the causes of hate, suspicion, underprivileged and want; by forming a brotherhood of mutual love and concern for the locally deprived and lonely; by respecting, loving and sharing the fruits of the earth, by never rendering evil for evil. Above all peace - true peace of the soul and of the heart of the community - can be found only in responding to the love of the Heavenly Father : in a united approach to Him the world over will be found true brotherhood.
