Like as the hart desireth the waterbrooks so longeth My soul after Thee, O God.
Psalm 42:1

The yearning at the heart of your being in the midst of activity and committed action is at the heart of all human beings, and it is the gift and dynamic which makes them uniquely human. To deny it or to turn away from it or to suppress it is to deny that person 's humanity. And the fulfilment of that person's life and his contribution to community will be conditioned by the measure of his responsibility for his condition

To drink at the wells of contemplation is essential for growth in the spirit, for the building up of that internal self which is eternal. Music, all cultural activity, above all, silence, and an awakening to that which will communicate with the redeemed self will minister and lead and mature to the last stages of life on earth and across the threshold into eternity.

So the healthy soul has always a yearning for the wells which spring from eternal life, and the wise one will not only drink often but make provision for regular and deep intake.

I stand continually at the door of each and every soul the world over, seeking to lead each beloved child to the wells to revive the weary spirit as well as slake the immediate and unquenched thirst.
