St. Wenceslas
Jesus said, "Anyone who does not take up his cross and follow in My footsteps is not worthy of Me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it:
anyone who loses his life for My sake will find it."
Matthew 10:38-39

The way to growth of personality, and perfection in the end, could never be through easy pastures. Growth demands sturdy resistance to contrary circumstances and orientation to the light. All that is truly alive is vibrant, resilient, enabling the life which constantly springs from the centre to re-form and renew where hurt is sustained. This is a law and principle of the natural world, and both life and re-creation issue from the Father's love.

As it is for natural things so is it for mind and spirit. Constantly the mind must seek for light and truth, the spirit for the beautiful and lovely things the Father offers to the pure in heart. Neither the gifts themselves nor power to walk in them are to be found unless they are desired and worked for. And effort not infrequently involves both self-denial and pain.

But all who seek to identify with that which brings fulfilment and perfection, both for themselves and for their world, must willingly embrace that which they will find within themselves which contributes to the total offering which the Son of Man Himself identified and suffered. He will be with them in the suffering and offering, in the fulfilment and perfection.
