Jesus said,
"Anyone who does not carry his
cross and
come after Me cannot be my disciple."
Luke
14:27
Have I not said that where I am
there shall my servant be? There
is no easy way through life, nor
could there ever be. Life is for
growth and sturdy health: growth
needs fortitude and strong endeavour,
courage, patience, persistence and
the willingness to start again when
things go wrong. And as each follower
of Mine freely responds to the Father's
call and leading as Our Holy Spirit
increasingly reveals, there will
be setbacks, problems and sadnesses
from time to time: such is the way
for all in human life. But I am
present in them all. I walked the
hill to Calvary for all who suffer
in life's way, and all who suffer
in the Father's service I travel
with, sharing the load with them.
And those who persevere with singleness
of mind and purpose identify with
My redeeming work. Their dedication
to the Father's love merges their
suffering with My eternal offering
and becomes a part of My redeeming
work for all mankind.
Though sadness abides for a season,
joy comes in the morning for all
the faithful and the true of heart.
