Jesus said, "Whosoever exalts himself shall be abased and he who humbles himself shall be exalted"

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust -all die in the process of time, kings and world leaders and those who are acclaimed and call themselves great - all die . And the humble of the earth - they die too along with the great. Yet when all this is done, and each stands in his own person, there is a change of station and of value in human reckoning: the pure in heart and the faithful are then the exalted ones in the presence of the Father - yes, and some there are of those amongst the great of the earth. But those who had exalted themselves at the expense of their fellowmen, those who disregarded responsibilities to their nation and people, those are of no esteem in the presence of the Father. They come into His presence on the wings of their prayerful and faithful friends and kinsfolk. Not infrequently those who have exalted themselves on earth have exalted others on the cross of suffering - some in the smallness of their family or community life, some have lorded it over nations at the expense and suffering of their people. I was so exalted on earth on the cross of suffering and shame. But through that cross I have drawn all people to Myself. Just so are My loving, committed children exalted on the cross which the world erects for them by design or others through their sin. The faithful ones share the fellowship of My suffering and in doing so participate in the saving of their fellowmen.
