The Beheading of John the Baptist
Mark 6:21-29

See how one who had sought to protect one of the Father's holy ones failed in a crisis because of his lack of single-mindedness and also because of his thwarting of the law of the Father regarding personal morality. John was faithful to the end, his future of joy and fulfilment assured in the presence of the Father. Herod was diminished, under judgement , condemned to live with his crime against God and humanity to the end of his days and beyond.

Take note, all children of the present day, of the danger of flirting with holiness and with the Source of goodness and truth when it is expressed and spelt out. There is no safe way save forward and into right commitment. You have it on record that is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. And so it is.

Herod was confronted with a situation which needs must have great repercussions for good or ill. So it is with every child of the Father at some time in their lives. Let his situation and failure forewarn.
