Tuesday, June 13th
The Pharisees and some of the Scribes who had come from
Jerusalem gathered round Jesus

Mark 7:1

For what purpose? To try to entangle the Son of Man in His words and to take note, with witnesses, of any information which could later be used against Him. And so the light which had come to lighten the world for each of the Father's beloved children became darkness for those who had come to destroy it.

But the Son of Man was also to use the occasion for good, showing to His disciples and to all who followed him in faith and in love for instruction in the laws of the Father's Kingdom, that the laws and traditions which some of their religious leaders were giving them were obscuring that very power which it was their duty to mediate, namely the law of the Lord. And they were using that very Law to diminish their own responsibilities to their own parents.

All sin and wrong doing is dangerous to the soul, but the sin which involves leading others astray, or neglecting to lead into the ways of the Lord by those who have the responsibility, herein is mortal sin leading to the destruction of eternal life itself for those who are found guilty - unless they repent.
