Beheading of John Baptist
Jeremiah 1:17-19. Mark 6:17-29

Truth will always be opposed by those who live in defiance of divine law, many hurt by those upholding it. The law of God is pure and undefiled: those who live by it are fortified and strengthened in the way of eternal life.

The Son of Man met hate and opposition and culpable inertia by love and the resilience of faithfulness to the Father’s will and loving purpose. The way was challenging and demanding even to the sacrifice of life itself. But that sacrifice brings enabling and empowering to all faithful in My saving and redeeming love.

And all faithful to truth as it is presented to their heart and mind, even through pain and suffering, are part of My redemptive offering in the power and joy of our saving, sanctifying love.
