Saturday, February
4th
On the
next day the great body of pilgrim,
…….when they heard that
Jesus was coming to the feast, took
branches of palms and went forth to
meet Him and cried, *Hosanna, blessings
on Him who comes in the Name of the
Lord. God bless the King of Israel"
At the time the disciples did not
understand this but when Jesus was
glorified then they remembered that
these things were written about Him
John
12:12-16
Events take place in the lives
of men and nations : according to
a man's orientation to the light
within him will each react, in things
both great and small. And no one
should despise the day of small
things. As he reacts to the light
so will it either increase or diminish
according to the orientation and
the measure of his will and purpose.
So great is his freedom , so available
the means to growth and maturity,
so vital the right choice. And as
life proceeds, for those who follow
faithfully, however falteringly,
two circumstances for further growth
and progress in the way emerge :
firstly, as the going proceeds down
the years, understanding develops
- both of the experiences of the
past and dimly but increasingly
of the shape of things to come in
the context of eternity, and secondly
, he becomes conditioned through
free choice to see and recognise
and distinguish the good, and enabled
to respond to it through My Indwelling
and the power of Our Holy Spirit.
The people of Jerusalem who shouted
"Hosanna" were later to
see the King they acclaimed nailed
to the tree of suffering and shame.
And the Disciples who witnessed
and suffered at His death and rejoiced
at His resurrection remembered and
understood . So let it be for all
the faithful of all times.
