The Chief Priests and the Pharisees convened a meeting of the Sanhedrin "What action are we taking?" they said………if we let this man alone all will believe in Him ……." Then from that day they plotted His death
John 11:48,53

Behold the depths of human sin, first to deny the evidence of the eyes, the mind, the heart, and then to seek to destroy that evidence. The consequence is deadly for the soul of all who act so and who do not retrace the steps taken through seeking forgiveness. And the sin against the soul is deadly in its consequences if there is no such penitence because not only is the harm done to the soul (of the person) acting thus but the evil and suffering caused to countless others is incalculable. In this following through to My arrest, trial, imprisonment and death see the harm caused to lives within that ambience : the Sanhedrin, Pilate, the crowds in Jerusalem, the Roman soldiers, were all driven by the circumstance of evil intent to follow a path which they would not otherwise have taken. My beloved Mother, My loved Disciples, followers in the way, acquaintances, friends - so many suffered by reason of my human suffering and because of he deprivation caused by My death. So is the guilt borne and the suffering caused by every occasion of a martyr's persecution and death down the ages of human history. Yet in death there is an end to a beginning : the end is the cycle of evil the beginning the initiation to redemptive, risen life to all who seek it in penitence, commitment and love.
