Jesus said, "The poor always you have with you but Me you have not always."
John 12:8

Do not think that in these words I was giving an alternative : continually and continuously I minister to the poor of all sorts and conditions through My living, committed followers . And both the poor and those who minister are with Me and I with them. And the ministry cannot be rightly fulfilled by My followers unless done in and through Me and the power of Our Holy Spirit. More elusive is the knowledge and the power of my Presence than the presence of the poor, for it can be excluded by wilful turning away and by slothfulness to react to the light along the way. Those who accept the light and walk in the way see clearly how My commission to them to feed the hungry and clothe the naked can best be followed by them. So it is a matter of priority.Many in the world today have a concern for the poor and give generously to the poor as they are asked. But for some it is an easy option , a giving of substance rather than of self. And so their gift is unsubstantial , their life unfulfilled . The wise who follow in the way see and understand that al is given them by their Heavenly Father , and that only a dedication of their lives and substance to His love and the service of their fellowmen in obedience can satisfy and fulfil. To honour Me is to honour the Father and as that honour and are received, love and understanding are bestowed, the way forward is perceived with the means of accomplishing all that is required.
