St. Cyril of Alexandria
2 Timothy 4:1-5. Matthew 5:13-15

"I am He that is". So spoke the Father before the worlds were made or anything existed. "You are My Son, first fruit of My creative loving". So spoke He to Him who became the bearer of His word and not the bearer only but the Very Word to all He would and did create and is constantly creating. That loving is the power and joy of Our Holy Spirit, lively in the creative act, purposeful in all the Father wills and purposes and joining Us one with the other and with all the Father creates in time and through eternity.

I, the Father's Word before time was, came at His behest into His created world to re-create that which had departed from the perfection of the Father's glorious purpose of bringing His creation into the perfection of His love. I took on human flesh: in the full humanity of human manhood I lived in the perfection of the Father's love, I taught and ministered. My death, My resurrection and My risen life are My offering to the Father and to the sons of men to enable the one and many committed in Our redeeming, sanctifying love to become one in the glorious progressive, dynamic act of living in Him who is and was and shall be throughout eternity.
