St. Thomas Aquinas
We are indeed in His hand, we ourselves,
and our words, with our understanding too, and technical knowledge
Wisdom 7:15-22
Anyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and anyone who humbles himself will be exalted
Matthew 23:12

All knowledge, wisdom and understanding are from the Father, mediated through His Beloved Son and Blessed Holy Spirit. And it is the delight of His loving purpose to bestow these gifts upon the children of men for the building and extension of His Kingdom on earth and for the growth and maturity of all who receive them.

How foolish and unprofitable, then, for any child of man to believe and act as though he were the initiator of knowledge, the creator of wisdom. Those who arrogate to themselves the glory and assume the power which is the Father's alone reveal their own feebleness and incapacity.

The meaning and point of human life is to discover the will and loving purpose of the Father and follow it in the power of Our redeeming, sanctifying love. All who walk in faith and trust and love will rejoice in His Presence in time and eternity.
