St Gregory the Great. (Pope and Doctor ?540 – 604 a.d.)
2 Corinthians 4:1-2,5-7. Luke 22:24-30

You are not your own for the Father makes you His in and through His Love as you seek His will and loving purpose and follow in the Way through Love’s indwelling and the light and guiding of Our Holy Spirit.

The Father, Lord Most High, offers you a part in the building and consolidation of His Kingdom in His world, so let your light so shine before all that they may see your good works and glorify your heavenly father, Lord of All. 2 Corinthians 4: 1-2,5-7. Peter: 2:19, Isaiah 60:2.)

‘Perhaps it is not, after all, so difficult for a man to part with his possessions, but it is certainly most difficult for him to part with himself. ‘To renounce what one has is a minor thing; but to renounce what one is, that is asking a lot’. (St. Gregory, Homilies on the Gospels).
