Eccesiasticus 47:2-13. Mark 6:14-29

All born into the Father’s world are called to listen to the word He speaks to them, respond to the call to service and self-giving in His love and to grow into the fulness and perfection planned for them before time was. All are free to choose their commitment and direction, but loss of freedom oI action and liberty in choice follow where the word is not listened to or responded to and the power of faithfulness and obedience refused.

David, King of Israel, forefather of the Son if Man, ceaselessly revealed his faith in God and constantly prayed for strength and power to do all that was set before him. He praised, thanked and glorified the Father who gave him strength to triumph over all setbacks and suffering. And he brought all sin and failure – in penitence – before the Most High and received forgiveness and restoration in the way.

Consider Herod.
