St Scholastica
Martha welcomed Jesus into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord's feet and listened to Him speaking. The Lord said to Martha, "Martha, Martha, you worry and fret about many things and yet few are needed, indeed only one. It is Mary who has chosen the better part"
Luke 10:38-42

It is to the whole person that The Word must be spoken if it is to be effective. Many listen and look at teaching that is offered them, and not a few try to live by it as they encounter life and living. But as the whole person is addressed by the Word when He is desired and sought, so must there be total orientation and commitment to that which is spoken and revealed. Distracted or partial attention brings about fragmented and sometimes distorted understanding, which in turn produces unfulfilled and confused children of the Father's Kingdom.

Those who are progressing most safely and surely along the way in the Father's Kingdom are they whose minds are expectant and open to receive at all times the gentle pressure of the Father's leading and guiding and whose hearts are set to react in loving commitment to that which they perceive to be His will. And to this end they commune with Me and rest in Me at their heart's centre. Our loving Holy Spirit enlightens and enables and empowers them to embark upon that which they are called to become and to do.
