The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek………
Isaiah 61:1

The Lord The Father of all is upon all things, all creatures, all men. And His Spirit directs according to His loving dynamic purpose. Yet by virtue of His will, the directing is of no effect unless willingly and lovingly accepted by His human creation, each in his own mind and heart. The challenge to the Anointed One, the Beloved of the Father from time immemorial as he entered the human scene was cosmic in its proportions, the reward so tremendous that the human mind cannot fully comprehend it.

The initial and the final task before The Lord's Anointed, the world's Saviour, was a preaching of the good news of the Father's love and saving purpose. Foreshadowed in the lives and teachings of past leaders, witnessed to often by their suffering and death, it was lived out implicitly and explicitly in the One whose loving vocation to service it was so to do.

And therein is exemplification, besides teaching and the way of salvation. For according to the circumstance of each and the loving purpose of the Father the Spirit of the Lord descends. The Father works and I work in the hearts and minds, the comings and goings, the very personality of the lovingly committed; we preach through them according to the measure of their faithfulness and the singleness of mind of those who are around them.
