St. Theresa of the Child Jesus (1873-1897)
Isaiah 66:10-11. Matthew 18:1-5

Humility, dependence, trust; such are the qualities which build up the faithful soul in eternal life and train the followers of the Son of Man in faithfulness and love of their heavenly Father and their brothers and their sisters near and far. The branch that bends before the wind will not be easily broken; the soul that bows before the Father receives and gives according to His will and loving purpose for them and for the one and many in the Father’s world.

The Son of Man, the Father’s Word and Love Incarnate, entered human life ‘not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many’. (Mark 10:45.) You are called to take, in thankfulness and joy, and give as you are led and guided by Our Holy Spirit and empowered in and through Our love.

(‘I prefer the monotony of obscure sacrifice to all ecstasies. To pick up a pin for love can convert a soul’. (Words of St. Theresa.)
