Isaiah
53:10-11. Hebrews 4:14-6.
Mark 10:35-45
Be ready to hear the word
of the Most High as it is
spoken to you and obey it,
responsive to the love offered
: ‘In quietness and
in trust shall be your strength
(Isaiah 30:15’) and
‘Those of steadfast
mind you keep in peace because
they trust in you. Trust
in the Lord for ever’
(Isaiah 26:3)
As you follow in the steps
of the Son of Man so will
you enter in the fellowship
of suffering. ‘Trust
in the Lord for ever for
in the Lord God you have
an everlasting rock’
(Isaiah 26:4) The will and
loving purpose of the Most
High is offered to everyone
born into the world to identify
and respond to in the grace
and power of His love.
Be prepared, then, to drink
the cup of suffering and
to be baptised with the
baptism offered. In humility
and self-giving follow in
the steps of the Son of
Man as you are led and guided
by Our Holy Spirit and in
faith and love receive the
way opened up to you. For
‘the Son of Man came
to give His life as a ransom
formany’.
