Saturday October 13th
As Jesus was speaking a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, "Happy the womb that bore You and the breasts you sucked." But He replied, "Still happier those who hear the word of God and keep it."
Luke 11:27-28

There are two responses which the Loving Heavenly Father looks for from each beloved child whom He has loved into existence: first the right reaction from example and precept in life and living. Falteringly at first the child learns to walk and talk, to progress and correspond, until he is able safely to proceed from place to place and to communicate intelligently with family and friends. So does he learn, as he is taught and according to his disposition, to obey the precepts of right behaviour as it is expected of him. And the Father delights in his growth and integration,

But there is a deeper, more profound speech continually addressed to the heart and mind of each and every child of the Father the world over. Seen and heard in childhood innocence, it takes many forms and is recognised through the imagination and in countless and varied ways. Emerging as the voice and direction, the word of God enfolds, empowers, and contains the faithfully committed.

And joy is the reward of all who travel and are perfected in the way, for they possess and are possessed by the saving, suffering, dying, eternally triumphant Word of Life.
