St. John of Capistrano
2 Cor. 5:14-20. Luke 9:57-62

The way of the cross is the way of progress, wholeness, and fulfilment both for the one and for the many. Did I not show the way in My incarnate life? I left the honour and the glory of My place beside the Father and took on human flesh. Subject to the vicissitudes of life in time I sought to do the Father's will in all things. This led Me to Gethsemane and Golgotha that all identifying with the Father's will and loving purpose might come to wholeness and perfection through My redemptive offering and through the light and guiding of Our Holy Spirit .

The way is strait and narrow for all who travel in the way : how could it be otherwise in a fallen world and for those who follow in My footsteps ? But there is joy and satisfaction in the knowledge that I walk beside them, carrying all who falter or are burdened with life's sorrows .

All who give themselves in love to Love are one in Me and in the Father too . Life in such commitment may be constantly demanding but it is glorious too , both now and in eternity .
