When the Disciples were awake they saw His glory
Luke 9:32

The Son of Man came on earth to instruct in wholeness, holiness by His teaching and to lay down the bridge between earth and heaven by His death and resurrection.

Few saw the glory of the eternal Kingdom shining from within during His earthly life, and the occasions of true insight were few indeed. But the hour before dawn on the mountain was one of them. And had the Disciples continued in their sleep they would not have experienced it.

So it is with the children of the Father of all generations. The world is shot through with the beauty and glory and tremendous power of the eternal kingdom where the Father reigns in love. The greater number of the Father's children sleep. And their dreams or absence of concrete substance in life is their total grasp of reality. Most experience a dim echo in the best of their human experience , but all too often that is marred by selfishness, pride or self-centredness.

Awake, awake, children of the Father, you who are called to be children of light. Awake to your glorious destiny in the Father's eternal kingdom; live the life offered to you as your birthright and see the glory of the myriad ways of everyday life. And having awakened, see what joys are offered you as I begin to live, die and rise in you.
