St. John
of God (1495-1550)
1John
3:14-18 Matthew25:31-40, Jonah 3:1-10.
Luke 11:29-32
Love, humility, self-giving and
‘obedience to the Word of
the Lord’ are vital in response
to the Father’s call to live
and act according to His will and
loving purpose - as it is opened
up to them. And when weakness or
circumstance hinder the fulfilment
of your commitment pray for forgiveness
and return to the way as it is offered
through Love’s indwelling
and the light and guiding of Our
Holy Spirit. ’To obey is better
than sacrifice and obedience to
the voice of the Lord’. (1
Sam. 15:22.) His delight is in all
His beloved sons and daughters and
‘in quietness and in trust
shall be your strength’ (Isaiah
30:15). I am the Father’s
Word and Love Incarnate: follow
faithfully in the grace and power
of Our love.
As you are faithful in Our love
so will obedience follow: I speak
to one, I speak to every one. Be
open-minded to the Lord your God
and open-hearted to your brothers
and your sisters near and far –
as you are led and guided by Our
Holy Spirit in and through the grace
and power of Love’s indwelling,
for ‘as you did it to one
of these who are members of my family,
you did it to Me’.(Matthew
25:40)
