Amos
2:6-10, 13-16. Matthew 6:18-20
‘It is not enough
to name My Name and unite
with others in praise and
worship with part of your
mind and heart and without
self-giving to My word.
I speak to one, I speak
to every one. In prayer
and sacrament, in meditation
and quiet contemplation
be still and listen, wait
and open mind and heart
to My word, ready to respond
as you are led and guided
by Our Holy Spirit’.
So speaks the Father to
each and every one of His
beloved sons and daughters,
calling them to faithfulness
in the way in and through
the grace and power of Our
indwelling and the light
which lightens every one
born into the world.’
As for those who reject
the light offered and turn
from the word continually
given , they become lost
in the darkness of their
own choosing . They are
accountable for their rejection
and for their failure to
respond to the Father’s
will and loving purpose
for them . To all willfully
and culpably harming others
the word has been spoken,
‘ it would be better
(for them) if a great millstone
were fastened round their
neck and they were drowned
in the depth if the sea’.
