2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14. Matthew 5:1-12

‘In quietness and confidence shall be your strength’: the words given to the prophet are true for all people of all times and places. So are the words, ‘though The Lord gives you the bread of adversity yet shall His Word lead and guide you in the way’.

The Father’s Word enters heart and mind and community committed to His will and loving purpose, His Love the soul of all faithful and obedient in the way. And so all life and even death itself is en-joyed by the faithful and the true of heart in the grace and power of Incarnate Love and the dynamic of Our loving Holy Spirit.
