Hebrews 2:5-12. Mark 1:11-28

Glory and suffering, suffering and glory; these are both part of the experience and inheritance of the sons of men. The Father's loving purpose is that all committed to the way of holiness and wholeness should receive that glory as they continue faithful. But through man's sin that glory must be found through acknowledging his failure and weakness and entering in the discipline of suffering as he encounters it in life. By sharing in the painful consequences of sin with the Son of Man, as it is offered to each child of God, the faithful and the true of heart are led into the glory of the Father in the fullness of eternity. So are they brought into the glorious family of the redeemed and sanctified.
