St. Augustine of Hippo

1 John 4:7-16. Matthew 23:8-12

Through love the world began. Love created all that was or is or shall exist within this glorious world. Love is creatively dynamic: through nature and through the mind and heart of man, in family and group, community and nation love enables and empowers. And Love saves and sanctifies: through My atoning death and through the cleansing and inspiring of Our Holy Spirit creative Love is constructively active and dynamic in the world of being and becoming.

Yet Love must be acknowledged and received into the soul in humility and self-giving if it is to have that creative and re-creative power the Father lovingly and humbly offers. Take me into heart and mind, beloved of the Father, and I will bring you to the fullness of eternity.
