Ss. Pontian and Hippolytus, priests and martyrs
1 Peter 4:12-19. John 15:18-21

As you accept Our light and guidance so is the Father's will done in your heart and mind. Where the result brings opposition and hostility from others bear it with a generous and forgiving spirit. Pray constantly for faithfulness to the Father's will and for sensitivity to others. Our saving, sanctifying love will enable and empower you as you continue faithful. So will it challenge all who oppose and are hostile to you. All are children of the Father.

Recall the enfolding of My life in Galilee and Judaea, the reaction to My teaching and the trials, crucifixion and My death. Identify with My self-giving life and death in all things that the Father's loving purpose be fulfilled. So shall I be in you and with you for ever.
