The way of faith is frequently the way of suffering both in the one and for the many. This is a mystery which may be partly understood through prayer and meditation. All suffering has point and purpose as it is offered to Our saving, sanctifying love. And that same love sustains those offering it. One day all will be known and understood and pain and suffering will be as a forgotten dream in everlasting joy.
