Ecclesiasticus 2:1-13. Mark 9:30-37

Belief and trust in the loving purpose of the Father are necessary if progress is to be made in the pilgrimage of life. And every faithful pilgrim must have singleness of mind and faithfulness towards Him in whom he trusts. And all are gifts of the loving Heavenly Father which the Father yearns to pour into the heart and mind of every one of His beloved sons and daughters. Earnestly desire them and they will be given you as you pray and walk faithfully and commit yourself to Our saving, sanctifying love.

Understanding comes and faithfulness is given to all who, identifying with the life and work and offering of the Suffering Servant, pray and so live that they are given to become a part of it. The life of the Vine courses through the pruned branch and gives vitality and life eternal and glorifies the Father through what it is and through what it is becoming.
