Jesus saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom and said to him "Follow me". And he arose and followed Him.
Mark 2:14

So I called My beloved disciple . So I call every child of the Father who walks the earth, who has ever lived or will live in the future.

Follow Me in learning : study My words, My life. Meditate on My death, My resurrection. I will be present at each step . illumining and revealing meaning, purpose and means.

Follow Me along the path I am leading you. I suffer still in the world of men, and I need your faithfulness to perfect that which I am doing - sometimes with difficulty, often in pain . Identify as you see the need.

Follow Me in death - death to self and sin and to all that weakens and enervates the soul.

So will you one day - when the time appointed comes - follow Me through the risen life on earth to the Nearer Presence of the Father which is eternal joy and where the faithful of all times and nations rejoice and glorify together.

Such following brings wholeness and perfection and is accomplished by countless thousands of the great and lowly and simple and profound who have faithfully fulfilled the course in joy.
