St. John Eudes - 1601-1680
Ephesians 3:14-19. Matthew 11:25-30

Beloved child of the living, loving God, you are called to receive His Word, respond, and open heart and mind to Love’s indwelling: I speak to every each and every one born into the Father’s world. ‘Out of his infinite glory may He give you the power to grow strong, so that the Father’s Word Incarnate may live in your heart through faith and then, planted in Love and built on Love you will – with all the saints – have strength to grasp the breadth and length, the height and the depth, until, knowing the Love of the Father’s Word Incarnate – which is beyond all knowledge you are filled with the utter fulness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)

‘No-one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. ‘Come to Me all who labour and are over-burdened and I will give you rest. Shoulder My yoke and learn and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, My yoke is easy and My burden light’. (Matthew 11:27-30).

‘Our wish, our object, our chief preoccupation must be to form Jesus in ourselves, to make His spirit, His devotions, His affections, His desires and His disposition live and reign there….It is the work which God has given us to do unceasingly’ (St. John Eudes, The Life and reign of Jesus in Christian Souls.)
