Jesus asked the Chief Priests and the Elders "The baptism of John,
where did it come from - Heaven or men?
Mark 11:27-33

Truly happy and fulfilled are those children of the Father who look for the finger of His direction and act accordingly. To all He beckons to Himself to learn the truth concerning the nature of things and the place of each within the ambience of His Kingdom , and to all He directs with loving invitation to join in the construction of his Kingdom in the world of men. All are free to accept or refuse, all receive as they require and seek.

The baptising and the teaching of John was his vocation, his work and his fulfilment. His death was his witness to all he had lived for and to his faithfulness. In all that he did and suffered he was inspired and enlightened by Our holy Spirit, contained in Our love and supported in life and death.

So was John a lighthouse to others, a sign shedding light and hope. Those who sought the Father's will in court and market place, Temple and synagogue of his day reacted to his message and mission according to their soul's condition and their orientation to truth. And according to their reaction were they furthered along the way or turned from it.

So it is with every child of man the world over: every one is challenged by signs and statements of living truth along the way of life, each according to his situation. And each is called to react positively and constructively in that situation. Our Holy Spirit illuminates and guides, Our loving Presence sustains and undergirds as it is sought. The Father's welcome is assured when all is done.
